Automate a Restaurant Seed Priority Tier List

Spend cash on the right packets before backyard cells and drones.

Last updated:

Seed Priority

This seed priority list ranks how to spend shop cash on packets, beds, and plant upgrades in Automate a Restaurant, the Roblox incremental sim from m_experiment (released May 25, 2026). It sits next to Best Recipes (what to cook) and Drone Priority (which worker to unlock). Mechanics live on Seeds and Beds.

We do not invent hidden seed names the shop has not shown you. Tiers describe spend behavior: cheap volume, experiment pairs, luxury packets, and vanity upgrades.

S tier — cheap tutorial seeds at full occupancy

S means: buy the cheapest seed that already feeds a dish you can cook, and plant it on every unlocked bed and pot. Volume beats rarity on day one and still wins after the August 15, 2026 population spike, because more customers need more plates, not one trophy plant.

Skip unaffordable packets. If the shop row is red, you are not in S tier anymore—you are window shopping. Restock after you collect money, not before.

A tier — one experiment pair

Once a staple recipe is looping, add one second seed that you are actively testing in Discover Recipes. Keep it to a small cluster so a failed combo does not empty the farm.

A-tier seeds are allowed to cost more than tutorial packets if you already filled the rest of the yard with S-tier plants. Never replace the whole farm with an unproven pair.

B tier — upgrade planted seeds on a full farm

Plant upgrades (yield or speed on a seed already in the ground) become B when every bed is occupied and storage still moves. Upgrade the crop that customers actually eat. Do not max a decorative plant in the front row.

Set a personal seed max level the same way you set a cell max level on Backyard Cells. Co-op groups should say the cap out loud.

C tier — luxury packets before land

Expensive seeds while you still have unbought backyard cells are C. Land creates more S-tier slots. A luxury packet on one tile cannot out-produce three cheap beds. Buy the cell, fill it, then revisit the fancy row.

D tier — random shop spam and wrong-game seeds

D includes: buying every seed “to collect them,” copying crop lists from Run a Restaurant, and letting an auto-farm hub buy without a max cost cap. Those habits drain the shared till in a 10-player kitchen and teach you nothing about demand.

How this list changes after a patch

If m_experiment retunes shop prices or growth timers, re-test one S-tier restock and one plant upgrade before you rewrite your notes. Mid-August 2026 Snapshot is the current metadata page; Updates Hub is the index.

Rare ingredients are not seeds. Hunt them on Rare Ingredients after the cheap farm is stable.

Session spend order

  1. Collect money and empty storage.
  2. Restock S-tier seeds until beds are full.
  3. Optionally plant one A-tier experiment cluster.
  4. Buy a backyard cell if the yard is full and tickets still wait.
  5. Upgrade planted seeds or cell levels last.

Copy that order onto the Expansion Checklist.

Solo versus co-op reading

Solo, you can treat S tier as a personal restock habit. In a shared restaurant the same habit becomes a budget policy. If one friend buys luxury packets while another fills beds, the till looks random and nobody can tell whether the farm is working. Post the tier letter in chat—“S restock only until the new cell”—and revisit after one rush. Drones do not change the ranking; they only change how fast an S-tier field empties, which is another reason to restock before you upgrade.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which seed should I buy first in Automate a Restaurant?

The cheapest packet that feeds a dish you can already cook. Fill every bed with that seed before you touch luxury rows.

When do seed upgrades beat buying more land?

After every unlocked cell is planted and storage still keeps up. If tickets wait on missing crops, buy a cell first.

Should an auto-farm hub pick seeds for me?

Only if you set a max seed cost and cheapest preference—and you accept ban risk. Manual S-tier restocks are safer.

Are rare ingredients part of this tier list?

No. This list ranks shop seeds. Rare hunts are a separate mid-game layer on the Rare Ingredients guide.
